The Sulawasi Blue Shells is a decorative accessory made of dark clay ceramic crafted to look like a cluster of barnacles covered in a dark blue reactive glaze. The piece is thrown and carved before the rich blue glazing is applied, a lighter blue falling glaze accentuating the top portions of the sculpture to make each one unique. The Sulawasi is also glazed on the interior, but it is not watertight so requires a liner for floral arrangements.
